Auxiliary Mission

  • To support the American Legion and its programs for veterans, young people and community.
  • To provide for todays needs while being advocates for a brighter future.
  • To advance the understanding of patriotism and responsibility of citizenship.
  • To promote individual integrity and family values.
  • To ensure, as volunteers, that Auxiliary members continue to promote all that is good in the nation today, tomorrow and for generations to come through serving others first and not self.

Auxiliary Purpose

  • Associate with The American Legion and support the work of the world's largest veterans' organization.
  • Uphold the law of the land and defend the principles of democracy.
  • X-plain and guard basic freedoms of religion and expression.
  • Instill a sense of obligation to the community, state and nation.
  • Leaders in education for young people.
  • Implement numerous community efforts and programs to assist families and children across the nation.
  • Assist our nation's veterans through legislation, funding and volunteerism.
  • Raise awareness of patriotism and devotion to country.
  • Year-round participation and dedication to service, not self.

YOU CAN JOIN IF YOU ARE:

  1. A woman who is eligible for membership in the American Legion.
  2. The mother, wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, great grand-daughter, or grandmother of members of the American Legion, and deceased veterans who server in the United States Armed Forces during the listed war periods. Step-relatives are also eligible.
  • April 6, 1917 - Nov. 1, 1918 (WWI)
  • Dec 7, 1941 - Aug 15, 1945 - Merchant Marines Only
  • Dec 7, 1941 - Dec 31, 1946 (WWII)
  • June 25, 1950 - Jan 31, 1955 - Korean War
  • Feb 28, 1961 - May 7, 1975 - Vietnam War
  • Aug 24, 982 - July 31, 1984 - Granada/Lebanon
  • Dec 20, 1989 - Jan 31, 1990 - Panama
  • Aug 2, 1990 to cessation of hostilities - Persian Gulf
